Matlab R2006a: A Free and Powerful Tool for Scientific Computing



Upgrading from a version earlier to V0.98 require to upgrade the C30 / C32 compiler ((See release notes)). A version of the C30 or C32 compiler for student can be downloaded from the microchip website.

The estimated reflectance spectra (effective spectral reflectances)at each pixel in each of these example scenes can be downloaded as aWinZip file by clicking on the link at the bottom of eachpicture. Each zipped file contains for each scene a Matlabscene-reflectances file (size e.g. 1018 x 1339 x 33), a Matlabradiance-by-reflectances file for converting reflectances to radiances(33 x 2), a Matlab reflectances file for the Munsell surface in thescene (33 x 2), a bright BMP image of the scene, and a Microsoft RTFinformation file. The version of Matlab used to save these fileswas 7.2.0.232 (R2006a). Details of the hyperspectral system, imageacquisition, and processing are given further down the page.


The tutorial includes sample code (MATLAB, The MathWorks Inc) andtechnical notes on the interpretation of reflectance spectra fromnatural scenes. Also available for download is a zipped packagecontaining a small test hyperspectral image, daylight illuminantspectra, and a conversion routine for producing sRGB images.
